About the Author

  J. R. Armstrong was born and raised in southeast Michigan.  After being given a writing assignment in the 5th grade J. R. discovered that she loved to write.  She wrote a sci-fi story sending her characters on many adventures through-out the galaxy.  She then followed her passion through high school even though she was told to pick a different path.  She attended Olivet College, majoring in English, until she was told to take a different path yet again (clearly J. R. was not much of a student).  She chose to go with a major in Sociology and a minor in English.  By taking Sociology and several Psychology courses she learned what made people tick which she applied to creating more believable characters.

J. R. has won First Place for Romance in ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Awards twice.  Once for 'Owe It To The Wind' and once for 'Truly, Everything.'  Recently 'Beg(ga)(he)r' won the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award.  She has also been a Finalist in the Eric Hoffer Awards and the Indie Excellence Book Awards.

Having spent her honeymoon traveling across the country and back she would like to recreate that trip and introduce her books to people along the way plus do research in a national park out west for the book she is currently working on.   'Owe It To The Wind' and the sequel, 'Truly, Everything' were written in 11 cities on two continents, including a Caribbean Island.  She lives near Lansing, Michigan, with her husband.
